I know death is inevitable – and it’s entertainment that exploits this fact that we at Planet Horror profit from – but that cold fact doesn’t ever numb the deep sense of loss that hits you when it happens. After losing the fascinating American genre filmmaker Charles B. Pierce (who directed THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK, THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN) and troubled former teen actor Corey Haim (best known for SILVER BULLET, THE LOST BOYS) last week, this week greets us with the news that legendary screen presence Peter Graves has left us 4 days shy of his 84th birthday.

Pierce classic still has people dreading sundown

Rather than just reporting on the passing of cult director Charles B. Pierce, I thought it would be more fitting of a tribute to review one of his classic films. The choice of which film to choose was easily narrowed down to THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN or The Legend of Boggy Creek, but from there the frustration began. After several hours of debating the pros and cons of each film, I decided to shed some light on SUNDOWN.

For those of you who are Bruce Campbell fans, My Name is Bruce was a gift from our favorite strong jawed B-movie hero. Since it's release there has been talk of a sequel and now it looks as if it going to happen. But don't take my word for it, here's what the man himself had to say...
